Readings Galore! Psalm 72 – Leviticus 19:1-18 – 1 Thessalonians 5:12-28 – Matthew 6:19-24
What does it mean to be blameless or holy? We usually think that being holy is being perfect. That is true – the word holy does imply the someone is perfect – sort of. When we talk about God being Holy, we are saying He is perfect! But what about us? 1 Thessalonians has Paul asking that God would sanctify us through and through. To sanctify is basically to make someone holy. But when we talk about humans, holy means to be set apart for a special purpose. Jesus died to make us holy and blameless. He took all our guilt and we are now free to serve. What a cool concept and prayer for us to pray – that God would continue to set me apart for His plan. Count me in!
