Would the real God please stand up! The Tower of Babel is in our readings. Whats it all about? Great question. Its about humans wanting to do things their way and trust in themselves. How are you sometimes like those people who built the tower! Why do we think we are the answer to everything?

Scum of the Earth – that is what Paul calls himself and the leaders he is working with. He is not trying to be dramatic. He is trying to remind all of us of the truth about our lives as believers. All we have comes from God. All we are is the result of His work. We have no room to talk about ourselves outside of what God has done – unless we want to talk about how we have taken messing up to the next level! Paul wants us to have lives that are marked but trust in what Jesus did on the cross to forgive and save us! When people see your life – what do they see? You? Jesus? What?
