Yep it is Friday already! Boy does time fly – anyway – here are some readings:  Psalm 86 – 1 Samuel 2:1-10 – Ephesians 2:1-10 – Matthew 7:22-27.

Back to Ephesians as we continue with this Ashes to Fire Reading deal.  It’s the first half of chapter 2 on tap for today.  First it’s the bad news – if you want to know what kind of life you can have apart from God.  Answer is NOTHING – no life – dead – its over!  Yes it is that bad.  Paul says we were dead in our sins.

So, the bad news sinks in a drives us to despair?  So is God done with us forever?  NO WAY!  There is also this great news – God has this overflowing love and mercy towards us.  We are saved because Jesus died in our place!  That is the big picture of what God has done for us and this truth frames everything in our lives!  We are forgiven and free!  Man – did I need be reminded of that – every day and all the time!  How about you?

It is Thursday Night – Perfect for some readings:  Psalm 70 – Leviticus 19:26-37 – 2 Thessalonians 1:1-12 – Matthew 6:25-34.

Seek God today and rejoice in all that He has given to you! What has God done for you today?  Make a list.  Check it twice.  Thank God for being with you today!

Hey, in case you didn’t know – it’s May! Yup, and that means readings:  Psalm 45 – Exodus 32:1-34 – 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10 – Matthew 5:11-16.

Salty? Huh?  What is Jesus talking about in Matthew – is He saying I am salt?  Well yes He is – if you are a follower of Jesus then you are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.  In other words, your faith in Jesus makes a difference in you that shows.  The point Jesus is making is that He has made this incredible difference in our lives and that will shine through in all that we do.  So while my faith in Jesus is personal – it is not supposed to be private.  How about you?  What is the hardest part of letting your light shine?
