Time to get back after – God has something to say! 2 Chronicles 13, Revelation 3, Haggai 1, and Psalm 119:97-120.

Revelation 3:15 ”‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot!16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. These words of John are for the church in Laodicea.  These words should ring in the ears of every church member.  God’s point here is that this church was just sort of floating around and that is not a good thing.  Hot or cold referred to purpose and faithfulness.  This church had lost its sense of focus and were playing it safe.  God wants them to trust in Him and serve Him with all they had!  What else do you hear God saying to the modern church?

12.10.2011 – The Key to the book of Revelation

Dec 10

Saturday is here at last! 2 Chronicles 10, Revelation 1, Zephaniah 2, and Psalm 119:49-72
Let’s kick back with some cocoa and the Book of Revelation. What a great book of the Bible – it has a way of grabbing your attention!
Revelation is one of those books that has stirred up much controversy. It is full of these terrible visions and images and so many either steer clear of it or totally focus on it. Maybe we should look at the purpose of the book so that we have a chance of correctly dealing with its contents.
John wrote the book of Revelation (and was give the vision) to encourage Christians who were undergoing persecution. Many of the Christians whom John was writing to were in danger of being killed for their faith in Jesus! God gave John a vision big enough to encourage them to hold to that faith in Christ. Let’s face it, if someone is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to renounce Jesus or die – you need something big! So God delivers a vision that is recorded in the book! It’s this massive picture of how Jesus has triumphed over sin, death, hell, and devil! That is the truth that they and we desperately need. This truth about Jesus and its purpose of comforting Believers that is the key to dealing with Revelation!
