Sunday is all about Jesus – so here we go: 2 Kings 19, Hebrews 1, Hosea 12, and Psalm 73!
You could say the Bible is about all kinds of things. The Bible might be about right living, helping others, or religious rituals. Hebrews 1 seems to say that the Bible is all about Jesus. Take in all that we have read up to this point (its been most of the year and most of the Bible) and see how its all led up to the birth of Jesus and then it talks about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is the one who saved us. We don’t have to wait for anything else (except His return) – in Jesus God has spoken! We are saved! We are set free because of what Jesus has done – embrace His gift of life and hope!

Ah, what a great day for a church service – and some readings. 1Kings 4-5, Ephesians 2, Ezekiel 35, and Psalm 23-4.
Alright, connection time. Maybe you are going to or have already gone to church today. Is there anything in today’s readings that connects with what you heard at services today? If you gather with other believers on a different day – connect that days readings with that experience. Cool? Lets hear about those connections.

Monday, Monday, Monday! 1 Samuel 21-22, 1 Corinthians 3, Ezekiel 1, John 2.
Wow, the awesome book of the prophet Ezekiel hits today! Lots of cool images and warnings to Gods’ people! These images are overwhelming and they all come from God. In fact, all the prophets say come from God, that’s the deal. And this prophet wastes no time describing this incredible creature. He calls it the appearance of the likeness of the glory of God! When the prophet sees it, he does something very cool: he fell on his face.
Do you fall on your face when you are face to face with the Lord? He does come to you in His Word – you know, the Bible you are now reading. These aren’t just words – they are God’s Words – right from His mouth! How can we “fall on our faces?’ What might that look like for us?

Nine days in and here we go! Gen 42, Mark 12, Job 8, and Romans 12!
Ok, what is the first thing that comes into your mind when you hear the word “worship?” Umm… a church, you know, a building. Maybe you think of an event at that church building, usually on Sunday morning that includes songs, prayers, and maybe a sermon. As you head out the door for Sunday morning church you say you are on your way to worship. True. We worship God as we get together as His church on Sunday mornings. Problem is when it ends there – when worship gets crammed into this Sunday morning box. Time to let worship out of the box! If we let worship out of the box where would it go; where would we find it? Everywhere we find ourselves living for God and serving Him. Paul writes these words in Romans 12:1: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God– this is your spiritual act of worship.” So maybe worship isn’t a place or an event but a way of life! Imagine that – a life of worship – inside and outside the walls of a church building – how cool!
